Decision making is one of the most important step in the success of head of states or company leaders. Before making a decision the person concerned most follow some important steps that will lead to a successful decision with a positive impact.

Decision is a simple word but it has a huge impact on one’s life. Learning how to make the right decision at the right time is very important to one’s success in life.

In this issue I am going to share with you some key insights to help you make better decisions that will lead to more success.

In that optic, I will share some key insights with you which could help you make better decisions that will lead to more success.

1. Everything takes longer than your best calculation

When you make decisions that involve deadlines, you have to take into consideration that most of time it will take 3 times longer to achieve your goal. So, adding extra margin to your deadlines will help you make more realistic decisions.

2. Everything costs more than you can possibly anticipate in advance.

As we said about time, the same applies for money. You will usually pay 3 times more than the estimated cost. So, to make better decisions consider a cost margin that is 3 times what you anticipated in advance.

3. Do the things you fear

Face your fears and take calculated risks. One of the very best ways to make successful decisions is to make lots of wrong decisions. This will teach you how to make the right ones. Don’t fear of making decisions. Decide to do what you fear and you will notice the huge positive impact this approach will have on your life.

4. Always have a backup plan

Always prepare for the worst case and consider all alternatives. Ask yourself, “What is the worst thing that could happen?” then prepare your reactions and your backup plans. When you prepare your responses in advance, you will be more confident in making the right decision.

5. Have a clear purpose

Having a clear purpose in life gives you the courage and confidence to make decisions that directly impact your destiny. Usually, having a meaning for what you do or having a big dream you are trying to pursue will give you more insight to make right decisions.

When you can see the future, you will have the power to make successful, long-term decisions. This is the most important quality of true leaders. True leaders have a clear purpose and based on it they make constructive, successful decisions that lead to a bright future.

6. Set clear goals and plans

Setting specific goals and plans will help you become clear about your roadmap. It will help you measure your progress and be flexible in your strategies and actions. Goals and plans are the blueprint that you will follow to get what you want and to fulfill your purpose. Setting milestones and defining your route in advance help a lot when you execute your plans and make new decisions along the way.

If you follow those six key insights, your likelihood of making successful decisions will increase. Start with making some small decisions and you will be willing to take on even greater challenges.

Be courageous. Have a clear purpose. Look down the road, into the future and make the right decisions that will make your dreams come true.
